When I was college (just yesterday), I had this ridiculously insane obsession with Oasis. When Wonderwall would come on at a bar, party or in the dorm rooms, it seemed as if every person would start singing along. We all knew that all the roads that led us there were winding and all the lights that lead us here were blinding. Then there was Live Forever, Morning Glory… Countless days of singing my heart out in a little dorm room in Tyler Hall. Oh the memories. Thank you Oasis.
But a week ago, a woman began singing Don’t Look Back in Anger at the end of the minute’s silence in St. Ann’s Square. As I watched, the tears came flooding through. It really was such a beautiful moment. I am sending all my LOVE to the people of Manchester!
I have not been able to get this song out of my head this week.
Don’t you know you might find
A better place to play?
You said that you’d never been
But all the things that you’ve seen
They slowly fade away
Cause you said the brains I had went to my head
Step outside, summertime’s in bloom
Stand up beside the fireplace
Take that look from off your face
You ain’t ever gonna burn my heart out
She knows it’s too late as we’re walking on by
Her soul slides away
But don’t look back in anger
I heard you say
Where nobody knows if it’s night or day
But please don’t put your life in the hands
Of a Rock ‘n’ Roll band
Who’ll throw it all away
Cause you…
So today, I am in an Oasis state of mind. I will be listening to all of my favorites while I work. Here are a few.
Have a fabulous day my sweet friends!
