Thankful for the small and silly things…

January 2, 2016…ahhh 2017

I came down the stairs, music already playing (yes, I turn the music on in the house on our Sonos from my phone before even getting out of bed), I made my coffee, fed the dog, sat down to read up on weekend sports , while Vance Joy’s Best of Me played in the background. Perfect timing Pandora.

Then I looked around.

My kitchen was CLEAN.

I lit a candle and continued to stay there and read. I also thought about how different my morning may have been if I had to start it with cleaning dishes. If I had to deal with the smell of day old food in the sink and sticky counters. But it was clean and BEAUTIFUL.

So today, I am thankful that I woke up to CLEAN kitchen. Something so SIMPLE and may sound silly, but it set the mood for my day.

It also inspired me to write this and future blogs on being THANKFUL for the SIMPLE and small things in life. What are the little things that you can do around the house that would make you feel happy and set the tone for your day?

Today, I will work on my office space. Because I think starting the new work year tomorrow with a clean uncluttered office would make me very  HAPPY.
